Story Analysis Exercise for Performance Accountability
The following form can be used to help groups or individuals understand the PERFORMANCE
ACCOUNTABILITY thinking process. Ask people to read a story of an organization
which has successfully improved performance. Use the form to enter the
elements of the story which fit the ideas below. Provide time for small groups
to discuss their answers. And then draw out the answers in a large group
process.
A great source of these stories can be found in the archives of the Malcolm
Baldridge National Quality Awards. There are two ways to access these stories:
Through the Baldridge website itself (www.quality.nist.gov),
or through the writeups of the award winners in USAToday under "Winners of the Quality Cup"
